If you're not going to rant, then I will
Now that the University has gotten around to telling me that I didn't get a place in the Bachelor of Computer Science, I'm determined to finish the degree I'm currently enrolled in, which would be the Bachelor of Computer Systems Engineering, formerly known as the Bachelor of Computer Science and Engineering. Now with added course codes and new restructured schedules. Which leads me to the rant.
*Deep Breath* ... Because I've been studying part-time for the last few years, I'm only just sort getting into the business end of the course... However, I'm having quite a lot of fun trying to figure out exactly which subjects I have left to do, in order to fulfill the requirements of the course. If I'd been full time and passed everything first go, I wouldn't have this problem so much, but because I've been part time, I've had 4 different schedules to work off. Apparently, the university is obliged to honour all versions of the schedule, and things would be fine if they did, but they haven't really done this, because a few of the subjects that were on the list have apparently fallen off their radar and are not being recognised as subjects you can claim credit for. Some subjects have changed name completely, some subjects have non-equivalent *equivalent* subjects ... summing up, it's a royal pain in the arse trying to figure out how long I have til I finish.
Of course, the whole reason I'd like to finish is not only so that I can hurry up and get married already to *someone*, but I'm really getting to the point where I need to get out and do something. I don't want to spend the rest of my life at uni, I have the rest of my life with Decay to look forward to ... No. Do NOT start me on wedding stuff, that is a whole other rant altogether.
So, at this point in time, I *think* I've sorted out my schedule of subjects for the next two years. I am going to stick to this, and at this point, I'm beyond caring if the university wants me to follow the new schedule or the old one. I'm following as much as I can, the earlier schedule because that is the one that is closer to the course I originally enrolled in, and they'll have to honour it ... I'm going to be about 8 credit points over the mininum required by the end of all this ... let's hope I don't freak out over going back to the wonder of being a full time student...
