OK, here is another first post. Two in a row (see Moby's Rant below). This isn't really going to be an authentic 'rant' as such, because I only have good stuff to say this morning.



This is due to the fact that Decay and I had a very enjoyable round of golf last night (well, half a round). It was a combination of some improving golf form, and the pleasant company of a couple of guys we were paired up with. Get Decay's version here

Decay played much better this week. The driver was working for him a bit more often, and he was cutting corners on some doglegs that most mortals would not even consider. He layed up nicely in front of the green in front of a few par 4s. One bad hole in particular messed up his card, after opening up with 3 pars in a row, but I'm sure its enough to make him look forward to the next round. Amazing what you can do on those rare days when you are relatively at peace with the world...



As for me, I was aiming to average no worse than 1 over par per hole, ie 9 over par for 9 holes (an 18 handicapper score). Last week I missed this target by a couple of shots, due to one bad hole and not hitting a single fairway off the tee (I'm blaming Decay's ranting and Novo's giggling...). I resolved to only hitting irons off the tee last night (for the first time ever). I went through with it, and although I messed up just as many tee shots, none of them found the trees. It turned out that I played more consistently and shot a 7 over par 42, which I was very happy with. I think there is easily another 3 or 4 shots or more to come off of this too.



There, having said that, I'll probably never break 50 again....
